Customer perspective
Impact on productivity
“Our storage environment was no longer withstanding the workload after five years, and we were getting more and more complaints about slow response times. We were short of storage capacity and the fact that it took 12 hours to back up was significantly affecting the performance of our systems. We had to look for a modern and flexible storage solution.”
Business-critical EAM application
“Within KLM Equipment Services, we rolled out the latest version of Infor, a mission-critical Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) application. With this we manage, among other things, the availability of ground support equipment. However, this required significantly more storage capacity, making the need for a new storage solution even more urgent. We needed a solution with maximum reliability because downtime is simply not an option. Databalance knows our environment and always delivers within deadlines and budgets. That’s why we asked them for advice and a suitable design.”
To support the growing demand for storage capacity and performance, a Fujitsu ETERNUS DX100 storage solution was implemented. This platform provides enterprise-class functionality with an excellent price-performance ratio. The solution is designed to consolidate data for server virtualization, e-mail, databases and business applications, as well as centralized file services. Fujitsu sent an ETERNUS expert to Schiphol Airport to configure the new storage platform and explain its functionalities to the KLM Equipment Services team.
